19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term coach his previous coach.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents his maiden title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from that period of 2023.

Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 various events.

"For the first time I'm at a competition with my children together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

He came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.

He rescued four early-game break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
